Christopher Newport’s Jahn Hines Repeats as C2C Men's Basketball Player of the Week

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 13th week of the 2024-25 men's basketball season. Christopher Newport senior Jahn Hines captured C2C Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors.


MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jahn Hines, Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport senior Jahn Hines led the 14th-ranked Captains to a home victory over UC Santa Cruz by scoring 17 points on Saturday in CNU's only game this week. Hines filled the stat sheet with seven assists, five rebounds, two blocked shots, and a steal as CNU improved to 17-4 on the season. Hines, a three-time All-American, has now scored 1,895 career points and is just 82 points shy of second place on CNU's all-time scoring list.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Salisbury's Jordan Oates guided the Sea Gulls to a pair of victories this week, opening with a 13-point, seven-rebound effort on Thursday against C2C foe UC Santa Cruz. He followed with his 15th double-double of the season, tallying 21 points on 10-of-15 shooting and 10 rebounds across just 19 minutes against Regent on Saturday. Oates climbed another rung on the program scoring ladder, improving to 11th all-time in Saturday's win… Sophomore forward Jay Randall led Mary Washington to a split his week against Johns Hopkins and UC Santa Cruz, averaging 18.0 PPG and shooting 71.4% from the floor. He scored 13 points while going 6-8 from the field in Monday's loss at Hopkins, then netted a game-high 23 in a 64-62 win over the Banana Slugs in Newport News, making 9-13 shots, and all five free throw attempts. He netted 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game as well… UC Santa Cruz's Joseph Espy averaged a double-double across three road losses averaging 19.7 points and 10.7 rebounds. Espy recorded 25 points with 13 rebounds against Mary Washington while recording back-to-back 17-point nights against Salisbury and Christopher Newport with 12 rebounds against the Captains.
