The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 11th week of the 2024 softball season.  Salisbury's Abby Mace picked up C2C Player of the Week honors, while Christopher Newport's Jamie Martin was perfect to earn C2C Pitcher of the Week acclaim.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Abby Mace, Salisbury

Mace continued her torrid campaign over the Sea Gulls' eight-win week, slashing .520/.594/1.240 with six doubles, four homers, 12 RBIs, 15 runs scored, four steals, and an OPS of 1.834. Mace notched a multi-homer game against Stevenson on Wednesday, going yard twice and driving in six runs. She also strung together six straight two-hit games against Stevenson, Washington College, and Marymount (Va.).

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jamie Martin, Christopher Newport

Martin threw the ninth perfect game in CNU softball history on Sunday in a 13-0 win over Meredith. She faced the minimum 15 batters in the five-inning game and struck out 13 of the 15. Martin is now 9-1 for the eighth-ranked Captains, who have won 11 straight games. Martin has not allowed a run in 33 consecutive innings pitched for the 26-5 Captains.

PITCHER: Nicole Ortega, Salisbury

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport's Candace Slaw was five-for-six in a Sunday sweep over Meredith College by the Captains. She scored four times and stole three bases as the Captains upped their winning streak to 11 games… Nicole Ortega continued her star turn in the circle by spinning 16 scoreless innings across four appearances in Salisbury's eight-game week. Ortega scattered 10 hits and two walks while striking out 13 batters, winning three games and saving another. Her finest outing was a three-hit complete-game shutout to beat Stockton on Sunday.
