C2C Welcomes Warren Wilson College as Newest Member

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) is excited to welcome Warren Wilson College as its newest member institution following unanimous support from the C2C Board of Directors. Warren Wilson becomes the conference's eighth core member and will begin competition immediately during the 2022-2023 academic year.

"The C2C is pleased to welcome Warren Wilson College as the league's newest member," said University of Mary Washington President Dr. Troy Paino, Chair of the C2C Board of Directors. "We look forward to the Owls' continued growth and success for years to come."

Warren Wilson College is a private liberal arts institution located in Swannanoa, North Carolina outside of Asheville. WWC is currently in year two of the three year NCAA Division III Provisional Membership process. The Owls will be immediately eligible to compete in all C2C championships and are on pace to become a full NCAA Division III member for the 2024-25 academic year. 

"Athletic Director Robin Martin and I, along with the entire Warren Wilson College community, and in particular the Athletics staff, are excited to be joining the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference," said WWC Interim President Bill Christy. "This is a great opportunity for Warren Wilson and an important one as the Owls work towards completing the NCAA Division III process. The C2C is an exciting, progressive conference that thinks outside of the box and we look forward to joining this conference and the opportunity to establish relationships with the member institutions."

Warren Wilson sponsors the following C2C sports: men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, women's lacrosse, and is adding women's volleyball beginning in 2023-24. The Owls have been members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), primarily competing as a founding member of the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference (EMAC) since the 2018–19 academic year.

"We are very excited to have Warren Wilson join the C2C family," commented C2C Commissioner Chris Roekle, "Bill Christy and Robin Martin have all the right pieces in place and I am confident the Owls have a bright future."

The C2C consists of eight full-time members: University of California-Santa Cruz, Christopher Newport University (Va.), Finlandia University (Mich.), University of Mary Washington (Va.), Mount Mary University (Wisc.), Pratt Institute (N.Y.), Salisbury University (Md.) and Warren Wilson College (N.C.).


The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference is a truly unique NCAA Division III conference providing a nationwide, destination-based championship experience for our student-athletes, culminating with access to NCAA Championships. Paired with celebrating the success of student-athletes with a comprehensive awards program, the C2C provides member institutions with experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. Those who raise the C2C trophy will display the excellence to compete on the national stage. The C2C is diverse and welcomes all newcomers, representing a league without boundaries and full of opportunity.
