Christopher Newport University Sweeps C2C All-Sports Awards for Fifth Consecutive Year
Christopher Newport University boasted eight titles among the 16 conference sports to sweep all three sections of the 2025-26 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) All-Sports Award competition. The Captains topped the standings in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award, the Men's Commissioner's Award and the Women's Commissioner's Award.
In addition to their eight team championships, CNU assembled runner-up finishes in six sports to record an 89.2 percentage total in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award standings. CNU totaled 94.4% of the possible points in nine women's sports and 82.6% in the seven men's sports to win the overall competition over Salisbury.
Christopher Newport captured team championships in volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's indoor track and field, women's basketball, women's tennis, and softball during the 2025-26 school year.
It marks the ninth overall and fifth straight C2C (formerly CAC) all-sports trophy for the Captains. The Women's Commissioner's Award is also the ninth total for CNU, while they secured the Men's Commissioner's Award for the seventh time.
Salisbury placed second overall with three C2C titles – men's outdoor track and field, baseball, and women's lacrosse. The Sea Gulls compiled a 75.3 percentage in the all-sports standings, including 80.2% in the men's standings which ranked second and 71.3% on the women's side which was third.
UC Santa Cruz was third in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award rankings with a 74.4 percentage. The Banana Slugs won titles in men's and women's cross country, and women's outdoor track and field to record a second-place finish in the Women's Commissioner's Standings (77.2) and third in the Men's Commissioner's Standings (71.1).
Mary Washington tallied 66% to capture fourth place in the All-Sports standings. The Eagles won a pair of C2C titles in men's basketball and men's tennis. UMW placed fourth in both the men's (70.9) and women's (62.0) standings.
Regent (35.4) finished in fifth place with JWU Charlotte (28.7) in sixth, and Warren Wilson (21.2) seventh.
