C2C Medal of Inspiration: Salisbury’s Nadia Bullock and Austen Cave Honored
Salisbury's Nadia Bullock and Austen Cave were selected by the league's senior woman administrators as the recipients of the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Medal of Inspiration for the 2025-26 academic year.
The C2C Medal of Inspiration is awarded to person(s) from the league who have persevered through extraordinary circumstances and whose determination, devotion, and passion are exemplary, revered among their peers, and worthy of special recognition.
Bullock, a senior from Berlin, Maryland, showed resilience throughout her Sea Gull women's basketball career. As a freshman, she played in 21 games with nine starts and averaged eight points but then tore her ACL in the summer. Bullock remained a part of the team while rehabbing her sophomore year. Her selfless determination put her on track to return only to injure the knee again one week before practice officially started her junior campaign. Bullock continued to impact and inspire the team after another surgery including sharing notes with coaches at halftime when she couldn't travel. She made a triumphant return to the court this season and was voted team captain by her peers. Bullock played in the 2025-26 season opener - logging 19 minutes with four points, six rebounds and a steal - which marked 989 days since her last game action. After just two contests, she tweaked her knee again before returning to action in mid-January. Bullock was relentless in her comeback and had a special senior night with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Cave, a senior from Delmar, Maryland, was named the 2026 Salisbury Athletics Comeback Athlete of the Year. He is currently in remission from cancer and has battled back from treatments over the last two years to regain his strength and endurance. This year, Cave led the Sea Gulls men's cross country team to second-place at the C2C Championships with a fifth-place finish to earn first team All-C2C honors. He received All-Region acclaim following with a 24th place effort at regionals. Cave broke the school record in the 5,000-meters during indoor track and field season to cap his best year returning from his fight with cancer.
