Salisbury Blanks Penn State Harrisburg 14-0 in Opening Game of CAC Baseball Championship

Salisbury Blanks Penn State Harrisburg 14-0 in Opening Game of CAC Baseball Championship

Connor Reeves pitched a complete-game shutout and Justin Meekins recorded four RBIs to lift top-seeded Salisbury to a 14-0 victory over third-seeded Penn State Harrisburg in the opening game of the CAC Baseball Tournament Championship on Friday afternoon in Salisbury, Md.

The Sea Gulls (32-10) now just need one win on Saturday to claim the CAC title, while the Lions (31-13) must win twice to earn the championship. Game two of the best-of-three series will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Reeves held the Lions in check all afternoon, allowing just four hits while striking out 13 and walking just one batter in his nine innings of work on the mound. With the win, Reeves now holds sole possession of the record for most wins in a single season in both Salisbury and CAC history. The win also helps him maintain the lead across all of Division III baseball in that category.

Meekins led the Sea Gulls with four RBIs, while Jack Barry went 4-for-6 with an RBI and scored once. Seven SU players registered at least one RBI in the victory.
