SU’s Winebrenner, UMW’s McComber Earn C2C Weekly Baseball Honors
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the eighth week of the 2025 baseball season. Salisbury's Dylan Winebrenner garnered C2C Player of the Week honors, while Mary Washington's Brendan McComber was tabbed C2C Pitcher of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dylan Winebrenner, Salisbury
Salisbury senior Dylan Winebrenner put up monster numbers as the Sea Gulls went 3-0 to open April, slashing .600/.625/1.333 with three home runs, two doubles, six runs, and 10 RBIs, boasting a 1.958 OPS. In Thursday's romp over Randolph-Macon, he blasted two home runs with four RBIs. Then on Saturday at C2C rival Christopher Newport, Winebrenner doubled twice and belted a grand slam en route to driving in five runs.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Brendan McComber, Mary Washington
Mary Washington senior Brendan McComber was as dominant as he's ever been, punching out 13 batters against Notre Dame of Maryland in his lone start of the week. McComber earned the win, yielded just one run on four hits, while issuing zero free passes. The lefty also picked up his 200th career strikeout after striking out the final batter in the sixth inning, lowering his ERA to 1.07, which ranks 13th-best in the nation.
