SU’s Newton, Brinsfield Earn C2C Weekly Baseball Honors
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 10th week of the 2026 baseball season. Salisbury's Jay Newton picked up C2C Player of the Week honors, while the Sea Gulls Aidan Brinsfield received C2C Pitcher of the Week distinction.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jay Newton, Salisbury
Salisbury junior Jay Newton slashed .833/.923/1.167 with a triple, RBI, three steals, and six runs scored, reaching base 12 times in 14 plate appearances as the Sea Gulls dispatched No. 5 Shenandoah, Neumann, and Mary Washington for the week. In Monday's upset over Shenandoah, he reached all five times up, finishing 3-for-3 with a triple, two HBPs, and two runs to lead Salisbury to a 6-3 dub. On Saturday against UMW, he swiped two bags and scored one of SU's 11 runs for the day.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Aidan Brinsfield, Salisbury
Salisbury junior Aidan Brinsfield tossed his third career complete game, a seven-inning gem in which he scattered one run on two hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in the Sea Gulls' 11-1 win over Mary Washington on Saturday.
