Catholic University will enter the upcoming 2006 Capital Athletic Conference field hockey tournament as the number one seed. The Cardinals tied Salisbury atop the regular season standings with identical 5-1 records, but Catholic earned the top seed as a result of their 1-0 win over Salisbury during the regular season, giving them the first-round bye in the tournament. The Sea Gulls enter the tournament as the number two seed while St. Mary’s (Md.) and Mary Washington are the third and fourth seeds, respectively. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 29, with the three quarterfinal matches to be played at the sites of the higher seeds.
