Wesley Field Hockey Gains Bid To ECAC Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship Tournament
The Wesley College field hockey team, which finished second in the CAC during the regular season and advanced to the conference championship game for the second-straight year, was seeded fifth for the 2011 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship Tournament.
The Wolverines (12-8) will travel to play fourth-seeded Stevens Institute (11-7) in one of four first-round matches Wednesday (11/9).
The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinals against the winner of Wednesday's first-round clash between top-seeded Lebanon Valley (14-5) and eighth-seeded McDaniel (11-7).
In the other half of the bracket, second-seeded Alvernia (13-7) hosts seventh-seeded FDU-Florham (12-9) while third-seeded Juniata (10-8) will entertain sixth-seeded Ramapo (11-5).
The semifinal and championship site will be determined after Wednesday's first-round matches. Lebanon Valley can not host because of site scheduling conflicts. The highest-seeded team other than LVC will likely host the weekend championship action.
