The 2022 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Field Hockey awards have been announced. The following are this year's honorees, as determined by the league's head coaches:

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Allie Davis - Salisbury

Allie Davis becomes the sixth straight and 20th Salisbury player overall to win the league's top honor as the C2C Player of the Year. Davis broke out during her senior campaign with the Sea Gulls by tying for the conference lead in goals with 16 and finishing second in points with 37. During the season, Davis was named the C2C Offensive Player of the Week three times. She scored in 13 of Salisbury's 16 games and began the season on a seven-game scoring streak.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Brooke Billhimer - Christopher Newport

Anchoring Christopher Newport's back line, Brooke Billhimer has been a stabilizing presence on the defensive unit throughout her second year with the Captains. During the 2022 campaign, Billhimer started all 17 games while leading the team with 1,012 minutes of action. Making the most of her time on the field, she ranks second on the squad with three defensive saves while leading a unit that slots fifth in the nation with a 0.65 goals-against-average and seventh with 10 shutouts. 

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: McKenna Horner - Salisbury

McKenna Horner is the 11th Salisbury player to become the conference's top rookie. Horner scored 10 points and added three assists to total 23 points in her freshman campaign. She scored her first career hat trick against then-No. 1 Rowan on Oct. 19 and was honored as the C2C Player of the Week and NFHCA National Player of the Week.

SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Abby Asuncion - Christopher Newport

Excelling both on and off the field, Abby Asuncion has been the epitome of a standout student-athlete since arriving in Newport News. A three-time first-team All-Conference selection and the reigning Region Player of the Year, Asuncion ranks sixth in school history with 35 goals, including a team-high eight as a senior. Meanwhile, the English major is also a perennial Academic All-Conference selection and a three-time member of the NFHCA National All-Academic Team.

COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: Dawn Chamberlin - Salisbury

Dawn Chamberlin and her staff were honored as the C2C Coaching Staff of the Year after the Sea Gulls finished the regular season as the lone undefeated team in Division III at 16-0 and enter the C2C Tournament as the top seed. The Sea Gulls defeated seven ranked teams during the season and outscored opponents at a 73-11 clip. In Division III, the team ranked second in penalty corners per game (12.81), sixth in points per game (11.94), seventh in goals per game (4.56) and eighth in goals against average (0.69). It is the 19th time that Coach Chamberlin was recognized as the conference Coach of the Year.
