The NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament pairings were announced Monday afternoon and after all was said and done, the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team drew No. 12 Guilford College as their first round opponent on Friday, March 7 at 8:00.

St. Mary's (17-11) is making its first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament after clinching the 2008 Capital Athletic Conference Championship as the fourth seed.  The Seahawks earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with an 82-72 victory over second-seeded University of Mary Washington on the Eagles' home court on March 1.

The winner of Friday's SMC vs. Guilford contest will advance to Saturday's second round (at Guilford) against the winner of Friday's Averett (14-14) vs. Widener (22-5) showdown.
