2009 CAC Men's Basketball Coach Of The Year Scott McClary Resigns At Marymount To Return To His Alma Mater

Marymount men's head coach for men's basketball, Scott McClary resigned from his position, according to athletic director, Bill Finney.  McClary will take a similar position at his alma mater, Muhlenberg College.

"It is with regret that I accept Scott's resignation," said Finney.  "But his recruiting efforts and his coaching style have left us with a strong nucleus of returning players."

Finney also announced that Marymount will begin an immediate nationwide search for McClary's replacement.

"We have a great school in an ideal location in a very strong, competitive conference," Finney said.  "I feel we will be able to attract many fine candidates for this position."

McClary recently completed his seventh season with the Saints.  They finished 15-13 in 2009 and advanced to the Capital Athletic Conference title game before losing.  Overall, McClary's record with the Saints was 74-82.
