Mary Washington’s Zack Blue Selected C2C Men's Basketball Player of the Week

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the second week of the 2024-25 men's basketball season. Mary Washington senior Zack Blue earned C2C Men's Basketball Player of the Week acclaim.


MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Zack Blue, Mary Washington

Mary Washington fifth-year senior Zack Blue had a record-breaking week this week, as the Eagles split a pair of games at the Marietta College Tipoff Tournament. On Friday, Blue set a new career high with 28 points in an 84-58 win over 20th ranked Maryville College, and then on Saturday, scored another 24 points in an 87-82 loss to the host Pioneers in the championship game. For the week, Blue shot 56.7% from the floor (17-30), making 14-19 three point attempts (73.7%), and 4-5 free throws for 26.0 PPG. He also added six rebounds, five assists, and three steals in the two games.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Salisbury's Jordan Oates provided a pair of essential double-doubles across two victories for the Sea Gulls over St. Mary's (Md.) and Johns Hopkins this week. Oates began his dominant week with 21 points and 17 rebounds against the Seahawks on Tuesday before dropping 19 points and hauling in 13 boards against the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins on Saturday. After his third straight double-double, he ranks 29th in program history with 1,077 career points and sixth with 906 career rebounds… Jahn Hines led Christopher Newport to two victories this week, an overtime win at Virginia Wesleyan and a home triumph over Wilson. He averaged 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and 1.5 steals per contest as the fifth-ranked Captains improved their record to 4-0 to start the season. Hines, a three-time All-American, tallied 16 points and nine rebounds in the OT thriller over Virginia Wesleyan, and followed with a 20-point, eight assist, three rebound performance versus Wilson in CNU's home opener… UC Santa Cruz's Zino Okah averaged 21.3 points per game, including 27 against Pomona-Pitzer in three games last week. Okah has also been strong at the free throw line going 15 of 19 while shooting 47.4% from three with 9 of 19.  Okah also shot 54.1% from the field to finish the week with a 54.1% shooting percentage.
