Stevenson Leads CAC Golf Championship At Halfway Mark; Mustang Freshman Ben Lukehart On Top Of Leaderboard

Stevenson University freshman Ben Lukehart is on top of the leaderboard with a two-over-par 73, holding a three-stroke lead over Wesley's Robert Ehrhardt, after the first round of the 2011 CAC Golf Championship at Piney Branch G.C. in Hempstead, Md. 

Tournament host Stevenson is also leading the team standings by 13 strokes over York College at the midway mark of the tournament.

First Round Scores

Hood's Andy Alger is in third place, six shots off the pace and three strokes behind Ehrhardt, followed by a tie for fourth place between Stevenson's Michael Ercolano and York's Andrew Schmehl, both with 10-over-par 81s.  Schmehl tied for the medalist honors at the 2010 CAC Championship.

Stevenson, which placed four golfers among the top 10 in Friday's first round, leads the team standings with a team score of 323.  Second-place York also had four among the top 10 Friday for a team score of 336.  Defending team champion Wesley is third with a score of 350, followed by Hood at 362.

The final 18 holes of the championship are scheduled to begin Saturday at 12:10 p.m.
