Marymount Gains 3rd Place At Stevenson Men's Golf Invitational; Penn State Harrisburg And William Paterson Both Post Sixth-Place Results At Tournaments

Marymount captured third-place honors at the Stevenson Invitational while Penn State Harrisburg tied for sixth at the Bridgewater Invitational and William Paterson gained sixth place at the Rutgers-Camden Tournament to highlight weekend men's golf action.

Marymount finished third overall at the Stevenson Invitational over the weekend.  The Saints posted a two day score of 722 to finish ahead of Capital Athletic Conference foe Wesley. Christian Ryan led the Saints with rounds of 82 and 84 for a total of 166 to tie for 7th place overall while Brad Johnson carded rounds of 86 and 84 to finish 12th overall.  Dylan Chessan carded an 85 on the first day for Wesley, but the Wolverines did not compete on Sunday's second day.

Penn State Harrisburg tied Lynchburg for sixth place in the eight-team Bridgewater InvitationalTyler Shank carded a two-day total of 151 (nine over par) to tie for third place individually, just four shots off the pace set by Bridgewater's Elijah Tackett.

On Friday, Sophomore James Nuzzo tied for 12th individually with a 10-over-par 80 as William Paterson placed sixth of 15 teams at the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptor Invitational April 4.  The Pioneers finished with a team total of 340 (+60), while the host school finished in the top spot with a 307 (+27) at the par-70, 6,250-yard Pennsauken Country Club.

Sunday, York participated in the first round of the prestigious Hershey Cup in Hershey, Pa.  The Spartans shot a team total of 326 as the Green and White finished day one 12th out of 15 teams in the tournament. York was two strokes back of tenth place Gettysburg and Susquehanna.  Franklin & Marshall owns the day one lead as they fired a team score of 301. Washington & Jefferson sits second at 305 while McDaniel is third at 306. Allegheny (307) and St. John Fisher (310) round out the top five squads. York was led on Sunday by junior David Boslough as he carded a seven-over-par 78. He sits tied for 19th in the 81-player field.  Senior Kevin Long was two strokes back Boslough as Long shot a nine-over-par 80 on the par-71 tract. Long sits tied for 37th in the tournament.

In addition to York competing in the second day of action at the Hershey Cup, Christopher Newport will be in action Monday for the first day of the 36-hole tournament at Emory in Atlanta, Ga.  Additionally, William Paterson will compete in 18-hole Lebanon Valley Invitational.
