Penn State Harrisburg Men's Golf Takes 2nd at Lebanon Valley Invitational; Christopher Newport's Nodwell Nabs 2nd at Hershey Cup
A pair of second-place finishes highlighted Monday's men's golf action around the CAC as Penn State Harrisburg took second in the team standings at the Dutchmen Spring Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley, and Christopher Newport sophomore Harry Nodwell secured second individually in the 87-player field at the Hershey Cup.
Penn State Harrisburg totaled a 312 strokes (24-over) to claim second place in a field of 14 teams at Lebanon Country Club, falling only to Messiah (298). All five Penn State Harrisburg competitors placed in the top-20 of the 73-player field, led by Tyler Shank's seventh-place finish with a five-over 77. Collin Hagenbuch also placed in the top-10 for the Lions, tying for ninth with a 78.
Nodwell led CNU at the Hershey Cup, taking second individually in the two-day tournament at the Hershey Country Club East Course. Nodwell posted rounds of 74-72 (+4), finishing behind only George Qian from Carnegie Mellon (74-67; -1). As a team, the Captains totaled 636 strokes to place 10th in the 15-team field.
Marymount also competed on Monday, finishing in a third-place tie among six teams at the Stevenson Spring Invitational at Piney Branch Golf Club. The Saints totaled 330 strokes (+46), led by Brad Johnson's tied for fifth-place mark with a eight-over 79.
