Salisbury Gains Third #1 Preseason Ranking In USILA Poll
The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released
its 2008 NCAA Division III men's lacrosse coaches' preseason poll
and the defending national champion Salisbury University Sea Gulls
check-in at No. 1. This is the third preseason poll that SU has
been selected as the top team in Division III.
There are four preseason top 20 teams on Salisbury's 2008 schedule.
The Sea Gulls and No. 2 Gettysburg College will meet on March 29 in
Gettysburg, Pa. The Sea Gulls second game of the season welcomes
No. 5 Lynchburg College to Sea Gull Stadium on February 23. When
the maroon and gold head south to Florida for their Spring Break
Trip the Sea Gulls will face No. 12 St. Lawrence on March 20. The
Gulls close out their regular-season in the annual "War on the
Shore" game against No. 11 Washington (Md.) College at home on
April 26.
Salisbury will host Saint Joseph's this Saturday, February 2, at
Noon in a scrimmage at Sea Gull Stadium. The maroon and gold will
then travel to North Carolina, the following week, to face Division
I preseason No. 1 Duke University in another scrimmage.
SU opens the 2008 season on Saturday, February 16, at home against
Virginia Wesleyan College. The non-conference game will begin at
Noon at Sea Gull Stadium.
