Salisbury Men's Lacrosse Tops Gettysburg 8-7, Moves on to NCAA Championship for Third Straight Season

NCAA Men's Lacrosse Bracket

Salisbury edged host Gettysburg 8-7 in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Semifinals on Sunday in Gettysburg, Pa., sending the Sea Gulls to the national championship game for the third straight season and fourth time in the last five years.

The two-time defending national champion Sea Gulls (20-3) will take on Wesleyan (Conn.) (18-3) in next Sunday's national championship at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Game time is set for 1 p.m. Wesleyan held off top-ranked and previously-unbeaten RIT 19-18 in another thrilling semifinal contest earlier on Sunday.

A back-and-forth contest from start to finish, the two sides were deadlocked at 7-7 late in regulation when Salisbury's Emory Wongus delivered what would prove to be the game-winner with 4:15 remaining. Wongus notched one goal and one assist on the day, while Griffin Moroney led the SU attack with a hat trick and Kyle Tucker spearheaded the defensive effort with four caused turnovers.
