Fifth-Seeded Mary Washington Tops Fourth-Seeded Marymount In The Opening Round Of The 2012 CAC Men's Soccer Tournament
Senior Matt Alter and junior Kevin Murphy each scored goals to lead the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory at Marymount University on Sunday afternoon in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.
The victory lifts the fifth-seeded Eagles into the CAC semifinals at top-seeded Salisbury. The other semifinal will have second-seeded Frostburg State host third-seeded York, which was a 1-0 winner against sixth-seeded St. Mary's in a first-round match Saturday.
