York Sweeps Salisbury & Goucher In Friday's Tri-Meet; Mary Washington And St. Mary's Compete In Invitationals
York's sweep of Salisbury and Goucher Friday night highlighed the weekend CAC men's and women's swimming dual meet action. Representing the CAC in a pair of invitationals, Mary Washington was third in both men's and women's at the Gettysburg Fall Festival while St. Mary's was third in the women's standings and fifth in the men's at the F&M Invitational.
Friday, York defeated Salisbury (men 115.5-88.5; women 121-83) and Goucher (men 114-90; women 150-51). Salisbury split the meet by sweeping both team scores from Goucher (men 109-95; women 151-51).
Saturday, Hood swept a dual meet against visiting Greensboro (men 118-44; women 134-49) but Frostburg State dropped both team results to NCAA Div. II West Va. Wesleyan (men 66-107; women 109-70).
In the four-team invitational at Gettysburg, Mary Washington placed third in both men's and women's meets. Johns Hopkins swept both titles, followed by the host Bullets, UMW and Dickinson.
At the 10-team F&M Invitational, St. Mary's placed fifth in the men's and women's standings.
Marymount University women’s swimming’s Anna Macedonia competed at the 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships, hosted by Georgia Tech over the weekend. Macedonia placed 111th overall in the 100 backstroke and posted a top-10 NCAA Division III time in the event.
