The third and final day of the 2016 CAC Championships begins with the prelims at 10 a.m., with the finals set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
Two individual records were broken on the men's side, with UMW's Dallas Tarkenton setting new CAC and championship meet records in the 100 butterfly at 48.68. Tarkenton's mark broke former teammate Alex Anderson's record of 48.97 from the 2013 championship meet. Tarkenton was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:32.17) along with Sean Mayer, Jake Schroth, and Ricardo Bonilla-Vazquez. Tarkenton now has five golds, two individual and three relay, through the first two days.
York's Kyle Walthall secured the other record on the men's side, besting his own championship meet mark in the 100 breaststroke. Walthall touched in 54.78, topping the mark of 55.54 that he set at last year's meet.
UMW grabbed four of the seven first-place marks in Saturday's action. Along with Tarkenton in the 100 fly and the 200 medley relay squad, Matt Martinez took top honors in the 400 IM at 4:08.92, and the 800 freestyle relay of Mayer, Kenyon Huber-Wilker, Tyler Gimple and Zach Eisig closed out the evening with a winning time of 6:54.45

A pair of UMW relays broke records on Saturday night. The women's 200 medley relay of Katie Fago, Anna Corley, Hannah Hagy, and Steph Hallock broke the championship and CAC marks, touching in 1:45.37. Fago, Hagy and Hallock were members of the same relay squad that set the record at last year's meet.
The 800 freestyle relay of Hallock, Corley, Michaela Miller and Ashley Walnut raced to a championship meet record of 7:41.59.
