Mary Washington Men's Tennis Wins Twice At Salisbury Saturday
The 25th-ranked Mary Washington men's tennis team picked up victories against Salisbury and Wesley Saturday to solidify its position atop the CAC standings.
Saturday's matches were moved inside at Salisbury's Tennis Center because of storms moving through the area. But the Eagles downed the host Sea Gulls by a 5-1 margin and shut out the Wolverines, to gain the victories.
UMW swept the doubles matches against both CAC rivals, needing just two singles wins to clinch the team victories.
Against Salisbury, the Eagles picked up the needed points by #1 Kaz Murata, who is ranked #13 in the country, and #2 Will Apperson. Salisbury's lone point was secured at No. 3 singles by Daniel Barnas.
Against Wesley, No. 5 Riley Baver and No. 6 Andrew Frisk were awarded default victories.
