Christopher Newport and York Notch Wins on Final Day of Regular Season; CAC Men's Tennis Tournament Matchups Finalized

With wins over Penn State Harrisburg and Frostburg State over the past two days, the York men's tennis team clinched the fifth and final seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament. Meanwhile, Christopher Newport blanked Salisbury 9-0 on Wednesday to lock up the No. 2 seed. 

Wednesday marked the final day of the regular season, and the five-team CAC Tournament field and matchups are now set. No. 4 Southern Virginia will host No. 5 York in Friday's opening round in Buena Vista, Va.

The Knights (9-7, 4-3 CAC) will be making their second straight appearance in the CAC postseason, while the Spartans (4-8, 3-4 CAC) return to the playoffs after missing out last spring. 

No. 1 Mary Washington (16-6, 7-0 CAC), No. 2 Christopher Newport (12-7, 6-1 CAC), and No. 3 Salisbury (15-5, 5-2 CAC) each received first-round byes. UMW will host the Southern Virginia/York winner in Tuesday's semifinals, while CNU and Salisbury will clash in the other semifinal matchup.
