2026 C2C Men's Tennis Awards and All-Conference Teams Revealed
The 2026 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Men's Tennis Awards and All-Conference Teams are below:
C2C Player of the Year: Asher Willenborg, Mary Washington
Willenborg headlined the individual awards as the player of the year. The junior posted a 14-4 mark at No. 1 singles and ranks 21st nationally. In doubles, Willenborg and Trevor Rein were 15-4 at the top line for the C2C Champion Eagles. He helped UMW earn an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and also qualified for both singles and doubles competition at the Division III Championships.
C2C Doubles Team of the Year: Trevor Rein/Asher Willenborg, Mary Washington
Trevor Rein and Asher Willenborg were honored as the top doubles pair with a 15-4 record for the Eagles. The No. 1 doubles duo ranks 14th nationally and helped UMW clear an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships and claimed a spot in the individual doubles competition at nationals as well.
C2C Rookie of the Year: Ryan Gipner, Mary Washington
Gipner captured rookie merit after going 15-6 in singles and 15-4 in doubles for the Eagles. In his first year, made the ITA Cup in doubles and earned All-American honors.
C2C Scholar-Athlete of the Year: John Billinis, JWU Charlotte
Billinis, a corporate accounting and financial analysis major, earned outstanding student and athlete recognition. He graduated magna cum laude last week after being named to the Dean's List every semester of his college career. The senior played No. 1 and No. 2 singles and doubles for the Wildcats and broke the school record for most wins at top singles this year.
C2C Coaching Staff of the Year: Todd Helbling, Mary Washington
Helbling claimed coaching recognition for the 16th time after guiding the Eagles to the C2C title and a 20-6 record this season. UMW is currently ranked 15th in the ITA team rankings and was selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Championships for the 25th overall and fifth time in the last six years.
