Salisbury Softball Leads Shenandoah After 4 Innings Of NCAA Tournament Game; Game Suspended Due To Darkness
The 10th-ranked Salisbury University softball team took the field on Friday evening in search of its second win of the NCAA Regional, but a late start due to a thrilling, 13-inning game between Emory University and Christopher Newport University allowed the Sea Gulls to play just four innings before their game against Shenandoah University was suspended due to darkness.
Salisbury maintains a 4-0 lead after four full innings of play; all four runs came in the third inning. Junior pitcher Erika Brittingham was clutch for the maroon and gold, allowing just two hits while striking out four.
