Six CAC Softball Players Named To 2012 NFCA All-Region Team
Six Capital Athletic Conference players, including four from regular-season and tournament champion Salisbury, were named to the 2012 NFCA all-region team.
The CAC was dominant on the first-team all region squad as five conference players were honored.
Salisbury's senior pitcher Erika Brittingham, junior catcher Michelle Gravdahl and junior shortstop Hannah Mills earned first-team all-region nods along with Frostburg State sophomore first baseman Caitlyn Lovend and Wesley designated player Ashlyn Booth.
Sea Gull freshman hurler Rachel Johnson also earned third-team all-region recognition.
In other post-season news, Brittingham, junior outfielder Lindsay McCabe and sophomore first baseman Harley Hill were named to the 2012 NCAA Newport News Regional All-Tournament team after their performances in the NCAA Regional Tournament. The Gulls went 2-2 in the tournament, including a win over top-ranked Emory.
