Salisbury Sophomore Paige Knussman Earns Academic All-America Softball Honors

Salisbury sophomore softball standout Paige Knussman has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)., announced Tuesday afternoon.

Knussman becomes the seventh Salisbury softball player in program history to have received the honor. She is one of just 33 softball student-athletes to across the nation to receive the honor. 

She is also the 77th Capital Athletic Conference student-athlete to be named Academic All-American by CoSIDA, and the 21st Sea Gull since Salisbury joined the CAC in 1994.

Salisbury's starting designated player, Knussman has proven to be one of the top hitters in the country this season. She is batting a team-high .529 with 56 RBI, 10 home runs and a .838 slugging percentage. 

To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.30 grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve on her team. An exercise science major, Knussman holds a 3.44 GPA in exercise science.
