Top-seeded Salisbury and second-seeded Christopher Newport each came away unbeaten on day one of the CAC Softball Tournament on Thursday at the SU Softball Field, setting up a Friday winner's bracket showdown between the top two seeds in the conference. 

Thursday's action was full of close contests, with a trio of one-run games. The action opened up with fifth-seeded Mary Washington edging fourth-seeded York, 2-1, in game one. 

Game two was another one-run contest, as Christopher Newport overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat third-seeded Frostburg State, 4-3. 

Salisbury then blanked Mary Washington in the most lopsided game of the day, 6-0. The Sea Gulls and Captains will meet 10 a.m. on Friday with a spot in the championship round at stake. 

In the fourth and final game of day one, Frostburg State eliminated York from the tournament with a 7-6 triumph. The Bobcats scored in the bottom the seventh to seal the one-run win. Frostburg State will meet Mary Washington at noon on Friday in an elimination game.
