Salisbury's LeAnne Collins Among 10 Finalists for NFCA Player of the Year
The final 10 players were announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year Watch List and Salisbury University softball junior LeAnne Collins is one of the final players in the running for the award.
Collins finished the year as Salisbury's leader in a number of statistical categories, batting .537, slugging .787, scoring 48 runs and knocking seven triples in 40 games, starting every game for the Sea Gulls in 2017.
The Spark, Maryland native drove in 30 runs and went 11-for-14 in steal chances. Defensively, Collins patrolled right field throughout the year, posting a .975 fielding percentage and recording three outfield assists.
The 2017 CAC Player of the Year, Collins is the only CAC representative on the list.
