Salisbury's Caitlin Lake Named Academic All-America for Second Straight Year

Salisbury senior Caitlin Lake has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III Academic All-America Softball team for the second straight year, announced on Tuesday. 

Lake was named to the second team after earning first team honors in 2016. 

Lake started every game this season in center field for the Sea Gulls, with a .355 batting average to go with eight doubles, four triples and three home runs. She drove in 31 runs and scored 35 times. Defensively, Lake was a stellar outfielder over her four years, closing out her senior season with a .942 fielding percentage, recording four outfield assists.

Along with being a leader on the field, Lake has been a standout in the classroom, with a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average as a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.
