2026 C2C Outdoor Track and Field Awards Revealed

The 2026 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference honors have been announced:

Men's Athlete of the Year: Kai Smith – Salisbury

Smith boasted top honors for the second time in his distinguished career.  The senior captured a pair of national titles in the 100- and 200-meters at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships to score 20 points and help Salisbury place eighth.  Smith recorded all-time marks, moving up to No. 2 in NCAA DIII history in the 100 (10.14) and No. 3 in the 200 (20.42), and received Most Outstanding Men's Track Performer of the Championships and USTFCCCA Men's Track Athlete of the Year recognition.  Additionally, he won both events at the C2C championships to earn track athlete of the meet distinction and broke the league overall and meet records.

Women's Athlete of the Year: Ellie Nuckols - Christopher Newport

Nuckols headlined the awards after a successful junior season.  She placed sixth in the heptathlon at the DIII Outdoor Championships to earn first-team All-American honors with a conference and program record 4,887 points.  Nuckols also qualified for nationals in the 400-meter hurdles after winning the C2C title and setting the league's overall and meet records.  She was tabbed C2C track athlete of the meet with 34 points in seven events including runner-up finishes in the 400-meters and 100m hurdles.

Men's Rookie of the Year:  Dylan Filipowicz - Christopher Newport

Filipowicz was a national qualifier and the C2C champion in the javelin.  In his first year, he placed 22nd at the DIII Outdoor Championships and posted the second-best throw in CNU history (61.25m) which was the top mark in the conference.

Women's Rookie of the Year:  Nia Kim - UC Santa Cruz

Kim capped her first year with a 13th place finish in the heptathlon at the DIII Outdoor Championships to garner second-team All-American Honors.  She was the C2C field athlete of the meet after finishing first in the long jump, high jump, and 100m hurdles, runner-up in the 400-meters and fourth in the 4x100m relay to post a meet-high 39 points.  Kim broke the conference overall and meet record in the 100m hurdles and holds four UCSC marks.

Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Luke Holland - UC Santa Cruz

For the second straight year, Holland, a molecular, cellular, and developmental biology major, earned scholar-athlete acclaim.  The senior was the C2C champion in the 5,000-meters and set a UCSC record in the 10,000m.

Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Elena Stanciu - UC Santa Cruz

Stanciu, an ecology and evolution major, captured scholar-athlete honors.  The junior qualified for nationals in the 1,500-meters after winning the event and the 800m at the conference meet.  Stanciu set the league overall and meet marks in the 1500m this season.

Men's Coaching Staff of the Year: Jim Jones – Salisbury

Head Coach Jim Jones claimed his 12th coaching award as Salisbury won the C2C Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the 18th time.  The Sea Gulls scored 250 points while placing first in 11 events.  Furthermore, Kai Smith qualified for the NCAA Championships and won two national titles to pace SU to an eighth-place team finish.  Jones was also named 2026 USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Men's Region Coach of the Year.
