Marymount’s Maame Amponsah Named RTD All-State Women's Basketball Team
Marymount University’s women’s basketball senior forward Maame Amponsah was named to the Division II-III All-State Team by The Richmond Times Dispatch, as announced on Tuesday.
Amponsah was also previously named Capital Athletic Conference
Co-Player of the Year, D3Hoops.com All-Region and Capital
One/CoSIDA Academic All-District.
Tied for the national lead in rebounding for Division III, Amponsah
averaged 15.6 rebounds per game as a senior while adding 11.8
points per game. She posted 17 double-doubles on year and grabbed
at least 10 rebounds in every game but one.
Amponsah was named CAC Player of the Week twice and set a
program record with 22 rebounds in the league opener at Frostburg
State.
Marymount went 13-10 under first year head coach Ashlee Courter and
finished second in the CAC regular season standings with an 11-5
league record. The Saints concluded their season in the semifinals
of the CAC Tournament.
