What is your background in the sport you play?
My background in the sport I play, lacrosse, is that I began
playing my freshman year of high school and continued playing in
college.
What is your favorite spot on campus? My favorite
spot on campus is on the Bermuda field on the Owings Mills campus.
This is because once I step on that field I have nothing else to
worry about but the sport I love playing.
Other than your team, what organization(s) do you
participate in? Outside of athletics I am an
editor-in-chief for the school newspaper, The Villager, because it
directly involves my major. I am the treasurer of the National
Communication Association Honor Society, the society inducts only
Business Communications majors who achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher
in their communication classes. I am a member of the National
Society of Leadership and Success as well as the International
English Honor Society. Currently I am the president of the Student
Athlete Advisory Committee. I am a volunteer at Believe In Tomorrow
Children's House at Johns Hopkins. For my senior year I have
participated in a marketing internship with McLean, Koehler, Sparks
& Hammond.
What is the most important societal issue facing college
students? At the current time the most important
societal issue facing graduating college students is the status of
the economy. This is because it is effecting the amount of jobs
available to those entering the work force.
What is your major in college, and what is the most
important thing you learned in that discipline? My major
is Business Communications and the most important this I have
learned is the major is how crucial it is to be able to correctly
communicate with others.
Other than your family members, who was the most
influential person in your life? The most
influential person in my life other than any of my family members
would be my advisor and mentor Chip Rouse. Chip is
the department chair for my major and has directly helped with my
success in college. She has been there when I needed guidance and
has always lended a hand.
If you could give one piece of advice to elementary school
children, what would that advice be? Live for today
and do not worry so much about what is to come. Life is about
choosing your own path and making things happen for yourself, not
relying on something to happen for you. Always have fun.
What is your favorite form of entertainment?
My favorite form of entertainment is laughing and being with close
friends who I can always count on.
Outside of the Captial Athletic Conference, who or what is
your favorite sports person or team? My favorite sports
person is Ray Lewis on the Baltimore Ravens because he plays with a
passion and has a wondeful way of being able to inspire his
teammates.
Name the people, real or fictional, living or dead, that
you'd like to have dinner with. I would like to have
dinner with my grandfather and grandmother who passed away when I
was younger. They are two very inspiring people.
