Frostburg State Women's Soccer Selected As Top Seed In The ECAC South Women's Soccer Championship Tournament

The Frostburg State women's soccer team was selected as the top seed in the eight-team field of the 2010 ECAC Division III South Women’s Soccer Championship. By earning the top seed, the Bobcats will have home-field advantage throughout the tournament which begins Wednesday.

Frostburg State (15-4) opens against eighth-seeded Lebanon Valley (10-8-2) on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. It marks the Bobcats' 10th-straight postseason appearance. Should the Bobcats win, they would host the semifinals on Saturday.

The Bobcats' vaunted scoring attack is led by sophomore forward Amanda Wharton and senior forward Lauren Russell. Wharton leads the team with 27 goals and 57 points, while Russell is tied for second on the team in goals with 10 and is second in points with 30. Junior goalkeeper Michelle Buckmaster anchors a solid Frostburg defense, posting a 13-3 record with five shutouts and a 0.75 goals against average.

Semifinals – Saturday, November 13 at (highest remaining seed)
