Two CAC Teams - Frostburg State And Wesley - Honored With NSCAA Team Ethics Award
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced that the Frostburg State University and Wesley College women's soccer teams have earned a 2012 Team Ethics award.
Wesley picked up a Gold Award he CAC Champion Bobcats was among
the 48 teams that claimed a Silver Award, which is given to schools
that accumulate zero red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards.
FSU received just five yellow cards on the season.
The NSCAA places schools in three different categories - Gold,
Silver and Bronze - based on the number of yellow and red cards
given to each school throughout the season.
Seventy four teams received either a Gold, Silver or Bronze version
of the Team Ethics Award. Eight teams were given a Gold Award for
completing the 2012 season without receiving either a yellow or red
card. The Bronze Award went to 18 teams that received a maximum of
10 yellow cards and no red cards.
FSU, the only Capital Athletic Conference school to receive an
Ethics Award, finished the fall season with a 14-4-2 overall
record. The Bobcats won the CAC Tournament Championships and
appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009.
