Frostburg State senior Stephanie Fazenbaker has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America Women's Soccer Division III First Team and became the first student-athlete in school history to garner the prestigious academic honor three times, Friday as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Fazenbaker caps a brilliant four-year career both on the field and in the classroom for the Bobcats. After being named to the Academic All-America third team as a sophomore and second team last fall, she joined 10 student-athletes on the first team this year.

Fazenbaker's Academic All-America honor marks the ninth such award for Frostburg State since joining the Capital Athletic Conference. She is the third first-team award winner in FSU's CAC history, with the other two earned by Adria Graham '13, also a women's soccer student-athlete.

As a student, Fazenbaker carries a 3.97 GPA in biology and is a six-time Dean's List student. The Frostburg, Md. native is also a three-time All-Capital Athletic Conference Academic honoree and a 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-East Region selection.

As an athlete, Fazenbaker finished her career on the field by helping Frostburg to the 2014 NCAA Tournament, the eighth NCAA appearance in 14 years. Following a standout senior season in which she finished second in the conference in scoring (36 pts.), Fazenbaker quickly climbed up the career record lists and sits in sixth in scoring (113 pts.), fourth in assists (29) and seventh in goals (42).

Along with three Academic All-American awards, Fazenbaker is a three-time All-CAC honoree after taking home first-team honors last week.

Throughout her four years, Fazenbaker helped lead the Bobcats to a 52-17-13 overall record with four appearances in the CAC Tournament, two trips to the NCAA Tournament and an ECAC Tournament Championship in 2011.
