JWU Charlotte's Absalom, Mary Washington’s Anderson Selected C2C Women's Soccer Players of the Week
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the seventh week of the 2025 women's soccer season. JWU Charlotte's Azalianna Absalom was named C2C Offensive Player of the Week, while Mary Washington's Natalie Anderson claimed C2C Defensive Player of the Week honors.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Azalianna Absalom, Johnson & Wales Charlotte
Johnson & Wales Charlotte junior Azalianna Absalom scored twice in a nine-minute span just before halftime to put JWU up 2-0 against Christendom. She then assisted on the Wildcats' third goal of the game in the 3-0 win. Her five-point performance is a new career high.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Natalie Anderson, Mary Washington
Mary Washington senior Natalie Anderson led the Eagles defense to a pair of shutout ties over the weekend against two Top 50 NPI teams. She helped limit Franklin & Marshall to 3 shots total for the game, a squad that is averaging 15 shots a game. On Wednesday, she also limited Dickinson to 8 shots in the game, who averages over 14 shots per game. Her physicality in both games was the difference maker against extremely athletic and talented forwards on both teams. Anderson is the leader of the Eagles' backline that has been limiting offenses all season long. She came close to netting a game-winning header at the end of the game against Dickinson that was saved off the line by a field player.
