JWU Charlotte’s Ball, Salisbury’s Kinzeler Earn C2C Women's Soccer Player of the Week Honors
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 10th week of the 2025 women's soccer season. JWU Charlotte's Makayla Ball was named C2C Offensive Player of the Week, while Salisbury's Riley Kinzeler received C2C Defensive Player of the Week honors.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Makayla Ball, JWU Charlotte
JWU Charlotte freshman Makayla Ball scored a natural hat trick in JWU's 5-0 win over Warren Wilson on Friday. She netted her first goal of the game in the thirty-fifth minute to double the Wildcat advantage and then scored twice more in a four-minute span less than eight minutes after halftime. The Kings Mountain, NC native now has four goals on the season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Riley Kinzeler, Salisbury
Salisbury sophomore Riley Kinzeler picked up her fifth and sixth clean sheets of the season. She recorded one save at St. Mary's (Md.) in a 1-0 victory and posted four saves in a 0-0 draw versus Christopher Newport.
HONORABLE MENTION
OFFENSIVE: Olivia Pasko, Salisbury
DEFENSIVE: Amy Sidaway, Christopher Newport; Natalie Anderson, Mary Washington
C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Salisbury's Olivia Pasko fired six shots vs. St. Mary's (Md.) and scored the game-winner in the second half… Christopher Newport's Amy Sidaway started her 16th game of the season and played all 90 minutes in a scoreless draw at Salisbury during the nationally ranked Captains only game this week. Sidaway made six saves to lock up the clean sheet, her ninth of the season. She tied the all-time leader at Christopher Newport, Haley Eiser, by playing in her 40th career shutout (31.9). She needed to make three stops in each half including stopping a pair of Salisbury attempts in the final 15 minutes of the game. With the start, Amy also tied Meghan Gumbs for third all-time at CNU with 55… Mary Washington's Natalie Anderson played all 90 minutes for the Eagles on the backline as she led it to allow Lynchburg to attempt just a pair of shots all night -- neither of which were close to the net. Her physical style of play and leadership had helped the Eagles to post 14 shutouts after the scoreless draw against Lynchburg -- their most since at least 2001.
