Mary Washington And Salisbury Are Top Teams At NCAA Women's Cross Country Regionals
Mary Washington finished 8th out of 30 teams in the South/Southeast Regional while Salisbury placed 11th out of 56 teams that competed in the Mid-East Regional in NCAA Women's Cross Country action Saturday.
UMW, led by sophomore Erin Dandridge's 46th-place finish, scored 310 points to finish 8th in the South/Southeast Regional. Emory won the regional title with 45 points, followed in second place by Rhodes with 86 points. CAC individual champion Liz Green was the Eagles' second runner, placing 56th overall.
Sophomore Megan McMinn represented Marymount in the South/Southeast regional, placing 161st.
In the Mid-East regional team standings, Salisbury scored 421 points to place 11th while York was tied with Moravian for 14th place with 478 points. Other CAC teams included Hood (36th, 947 pts.), St. Mary's (42nd, 1,162 pts.) and Stevenson (46th, 1,421 pts.).
The top individual finisher from the CAC in the Mid-East regional was Frostburg State's Anne Patron, who finished second two weeks ago in the snowy CAC title race. Patron crossed the finish line 56th in 24:39.
Close behind Patron was York senior Mandy Parshall (60th, 24:43), Salisbury senior Becca Stinner (63rd, 24:46), Sea Gull freshman Hailey Spinapont (67th, 24:48) and SU senior Anna Steinman (24:52).
