Salisbury And York Duel At DeSales Women's Cross Country Invitational
Salisbury finished seventh in the team standings and York finished eighth, just six points behind the Gulls, to lead the CAC women's cross country teams at the DeSales Invitational Saturday.
Dickinson outdueled Div. II Kutztown for the team title, scoring 70 points compared to the 98 scored by the Golden Bears.
Salisbury placed seventh with 275 points, followed by York (8th, 281 pts.), St. Mary's (25th, 647 pts.), Frostburg State (31st, 958 pts.) and Stevenson (34th, 1055 pts.).
The top CAC individual in the race was York freshman Misty Parshall, who placed 20th overall and covered the 6K course in 24:43.67. Parshall was almost two minutes behind race winner Catherine Campbell (22:51.25), a junior from Dickinson.
The only other CAC runners among the Top 40 runners were Salisbury senior Becca Stinner (35th, 25:11.35) and Sea Gull Hailey Spinapont (39th, 25:15.25). York senior Mandy Parshall placed 51st overall in 25:28.93.
