York Women's Cross Country Captures Team Title At Achtzehn Classic
York pushed six runners across the finish line among the top 10 runners to win the team title at the annual Rich Achtzehn Classic, highlighting the CAC women’s cross country weekend action.
Salisbury competed at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational in Dartmouth, Md. Sophomore Hailey Spinapont was the first Seagull to complete to 5K course at 19:16.84.
Southern Virginia placed 4th overall at the James Madison Invitational. Sophomore Tori Faulkner crossed the finish line 23rd at 21:49.00. Leah Huber was not far behind at 21:54.70 with 26th place.
Wesley raced at the Cappy Anderson Invitational against many Division I Big East schools this past weekend. The first to score for the Wolverines was Senior Tristin Burns with a 5K course time of 21:26.49. Coming in shortly after Burns was fellow Senior Twila McCrea at 24:30.89.
York hosted the 4th annual Rich Achtzehn Classic at John Rudy Park. The women’s team placed first in the team standings on their home course. Sophomore Misty Parshall paved the way for the Spartans, crossing the finish line 3rd overall with a time of 25:09.48. Only a second later at 25:10.96 was classmate Jessica Miller.
Most CAC teams will compete in a conference championship preview meet at Frostburg State on Sept. 22.
