YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport senior Julie Machamer was chosen as the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for Sept. 3, 2014.

Christopher Newport senior Julie Machamer was named the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after guiding the Captains to a third-place finish, and first among non-Division I programs, at the University of Richmond's Spider Alumni Invitational. During the meet, she paced the squad with a time of 11:40 in the two-mile event. That time was the fastest clocking by a non-Division I runner at the competition and placed her 13th overall.
