Mary Washington Senior Jono Haught, York Senior Stephen Miele and Frostburg State Senior Clayton Freimuth Earn CAC Baseball Weekly Awards

YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington senior Jono Haught, York senior Stephen Miele and Frostburg State senior Clayton Freimuth were selected as the CAC Baseball Players of the Week for March 9, 2015.  

Co-Player of the Week

Mary Washington senior Jono Haught was named the CAC Co-Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a perfect 4-0 week in Myrtle Beach, going 9-of-16 (.563) at the plate with two doubles, one triple, and three home runs. Haught drove in nine runs for the week and scored six times. In addition, he walked once and didn't strike out in 18 plate appearances. His OPS for the week was an astounding 1.986. For the season, Haught is hitting .636 with 16 RBI.

Co-Player of the Week

Allentown, Pa. | Salisbury     

York senior Stephen Miele was named the CAC Co-Player of the Week after hitting .600 (9-for-15) with six RBIs, two triples, a double, and four runs scored in a 3-1 week for the Spartans in Myrtle Beach. Miele posted a .632 on-base percentage and a .933 slugging percentage throughout the week.

Frostburg State senior Clayton Freimuth was selected as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 in two starts, including Division III's first no-hitter of 2015 in a 3-0 win over Guilford. Freimuth totaled 14.1 innings with 26 strikeouts and a 1.26 ERA, while holding opponents to a 0.087 batting average.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury is ranked fourth in the D3baseball.com Week 2 Rankings, while Frostburg State is receiving votes ... Christopher Newport is off to a 6-2 start this spring. Austin Kilbourne hit a team-best .462 through four games last week for the Captains. In the conference opener against Marymount he went 4-for-6 with an RBI, two doubles and three runs scored ... Frostburg State is off to the best start in program history at 9-0. FSU's Clayton Freimuth was named NCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week by the NCBWA following his no-hitter. Kam Stewart hit .429 with 12 hits, four doubles, eight RBI and five walks last week. During the last three weeks, Stewart has at least one hit in six of seven games ... Marymount's Ben Berczek threw a one-hit shutout against CNU on Sunday, while Chas Hinkle drove in two runs with a double in the bottom of the 5th inning to propel the Saints past the Captains ... Wesley's Tyler Hunter posted a four-hit, three-RBI game in the opener against Frostburg State ... York's Randy Frankenfield tossed eight innings in the 3-1 win over Mt. St. Mary on Tuesday, allowing just four hits and striking out six.
