YORK, Pa. -- York sophomore Lindsay Nye and Christopher Newport senior Sarah Miller were selected as the CAC Field Hockey Players of the Week for Sept. 12, 2016. 

Offensive Player of the Week

York sophomore Lindsay Nye was selected as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling six goals in a pair of overtime road wins for the Spartans last week. Nye began her week with a historical performance as she scored all five goals in the Spartans' 5-4 overtime win at Dickinson, including the game-winner 1:05 into overtime. Her five goals broke the previous school record of four. In Saturday's win at Shenandoah, Nye scored 1:40 into overtime to lift the Spartans to the 3-2 win.

Christopher Newport senior Sarah Miller was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a pair of defensive saves in a 2-0 week for the Captains. Miller played all 141 minutes during CNU's two victories over Centre and DePauw. Against Centre on Friday, she registered a pair of defensive saves, including one late in the second half, which helped force overtime on the way to the one-goal win. Two days later, she anchored a defensive unit that allowed just six total shots in a 2-1 win over DePauw, equaling the Tigers fewest attempts in a game since their Final Four bout against Tufts in 2012.

Salisbury is ranked No. 7 in the Penn Monto / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, with Mary Washington (No. 12) and Christopher Newport (No. 14) also in the top 20 ... Frostburg State went 1-1 at the FSU Tournament, defeating Randolph-Macon 4-0 before falling to Delaware Valley 1-0. Senior Taylor Bowen registered her first career hat trick against Randolph-Macon ... Mary Washington senior Christine Loehr helped the 12th-ranked Eagles to a 1-1 week with three goals and an assist. She netted two goals in a 7-0 win over Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday, and added a goal and an assist, playing a hand in both Eagle goals, in a 3-2 loss to No. 5 Franklin and Marshall on Saturday. She has four goals and two assists through four games for the Eagles this season ... St. Mary's Carly Todd recorded her first career hat trick and finished with a career-best seven points in the Seahawks lone win of the week - a 9-0 shutout of Randolph-Macon on the road ... Salisbury went 1-1 last week, defeating Stevenson 5-1 and losing to No. 8 Messiah 3-2. Senior Abbey Shobe notched her first career hat trick vs. Stevenson ... Wesley's Isabella Lucia was involved in four of the Wolverines' five goals this week, scoring twice and dishing off a pair of assists. The Wolverines fell to Elizabethtown and Roanoke and downed Ferrum for a 1-2 week.
