Marymount Freshman D'Ondre Stockman Named CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. -- Marymount freshman D'Ondre Stockman began his collegiate career in impressive fashion, earning CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Nov. 17, 2014.

Stockman was named the CAC Player of the Week after earning Tournament MVP honors in leading the Saints to the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament title. In wins over Roanoke and Rhode Island College, Stockman averaged 17.5 points per game while shooting 91.7% (11-for-12) from the field and a perfect 9-for-9 from three-point range. He also averaged 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a steal per contest in the two Saint wins.

Christopher Newport is ranked No. 24 in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Preseason Poll, while Mary Washington received votes ... CNU is the lone CAC team that didn't open up the season this past weekend ... Mary Washington opened the season with a pair of losses to ODAC schools Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon. Senior Taylor Johnson led the Eagles with 18 points and 10 rebounds against LC, and sophomore John Lutkenhaus scored 17 points in the Eagles' 63-58 loss to #11 RMC ... Marymount's Jesse Konadu joined D'Ondre Stockman on the Pablo Coto Tip-Off All-Tournament team ... Troy Spurrier and Tanner Brooks led St. Mary's to a 1-1 season-opening weekend and earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Loyal Royals Tip-Off Classic hosted by Eastern Mennonite ... Salisbury's Gordon Jeter and Kyle Savercool were both named to the All-Tournament team at the Sea Gulls' Optimist Tournament. The Sea Gulls defeated Bryn Athyn 78-72 in the opener before falling 87-70 to Dickinson in the title game ... Southern Virginia's Preston Eaton scored a career-high 35 points in the Knights' triple-overtime 110-101 win at Emory & Henry. Eaton went a perfect 13-13 from the charity stripe and had four treys ... York sophomore Dalton Myers had a huge day in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic loss to Lebanon Valley on Sunday, pouring in a career-high 34 points on 14-of-22 shooting from the floor. Myers earned All-Tournament team honors for his efforts.
