YORK, Pa. -- St. Mary's junior Grant Burgess was named the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for Nov. 25, 2014.

St. Mary's junior Grant Burgess was named the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week after securing three individual wins and contributing to a relay victory in a 1-1 week for the Seahawks. Burgess started the week with individual wins in the 500 freestyle (4:54.79) and 1,000 freestyle (10:10.26) against Washington College. Both time are tops in the CAC. He also finished second in the 100 butterfly. In a 103-100 win over McDaniel, Burgess won gold as a member of the 400 medley relay and also took first in the 200 freestyle (1:50.01) and second in the 200 butterfly.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Frostburg State placed ninth at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational. Freshman Christian March set the Bobcat men's school record in the 100 breaststroke at 58.75 ... Mary Washington was off last week and returns to action on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Gettysburg Invitational ... Marymount fell to Randolph-Macon 121-81 at home on Saturday ... St. Mary's posted a come-from-behind 103-100 victory over McDaniel on Saturday. Trailing 96-92 entering the final event, the foursome of sophomores Matt Walchuck and Andrew Braker, senior Bobby Witkop, and junior Michael Speer posted a winning time of 3:23.53 to give the Seahawks 11 points and the win ... Salisbury finished second at the Swarthmore Invitational. Junior Will Gough led the Sea Gulls with first-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (22.19) and 100-yard freestyle (48.91) ... York is off from competition until Jan. 16, 2015.
