YORK, Pa. -- Penn State Harrisburg freshman Jalil Clayton and Christopher Newport freshman Jonathan Graham were awarded as the CAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for March 22, 2016.

Penn State Harrisburg freshman Jalil Clayton earned CAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after recording four first-place finishes at the Elizabethtown Early Bird Opener, helping the Lions to second place out of 16 in the team standings. Individually, Clayton took first in the 400-meter hurdles and the high jump, and was also a part of winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays. His 400-meter hurdle time of 56.64 ranks atop the CAC and eighth in the nation.

Christopher Newport freshman Jonathan Graham was named the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after setting a new school record in the pole vault in his first collegiate outdoor meet. At the Tribe Invitational on Saturday, Graham eclipsed 15'-5" to break the CNU record that had stood since 2010. His mark currently ranks third in the nation.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
Six CAC track & field teams have opened up the 2016 outdoor season over the past two weeks ... Frostburg State posted three individual runner-up finishes at the Juniata Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Collin Schultz captured second in the high jump (1.88m), freshman Shamar Nelson was second in the long jump (6.35m) and junior Patrick Broussoul took second in the hammer throw (41.44m) ... Mary Washington sophomore Dylon Garrett won the pole vault at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational at Lynchburg College on Saturday. His winning leap was of 3.51 meters ... Salisbury opened its spring by hosting the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet on March 5. Alieu Cole won the 110-hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles for the Sea Gulls at the Lloyd Sigler meet. At the Coastal Carolina Invitational on March 11-12, Ryan Pappas finished 10th in the pole vault with a height of 13'-11.25" ... York finished third in the team standings at the Elizabethtown Early Bird Opener. Darnell Tillman led the Spartans with first-place finishes in the 100 meters (11.40) and 200 meters (22.43). Alex Palescandolo won the discus with a throw of 41.50 meters.
