YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington senior Hannah Williams and Salisbury senior Rachel Johnson received CAC Softball Player of the Week accolades for March 9, 2015.

Mary Washington senior Hannah Williams was named the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a 6-2 start in Myrtle Beach last week, batting .500 (12-for-24) with seven runs scored, seven RBI, and a pair of doubles. She also went 2-for-2 in stolen bases with five outfield putouts.

Salisbury senior Rachel Johnson was honored as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after tossing a no-hitter and allowing just one base runner in the Sea Gulls' season-opening 1-0 win over Cortland State on Sunday. The no-no was the ninth solo of her career, matching the program record for career no-hitters. The only base runner did not reach scoring position, as Johnson struck out the next three batters. She recorded the first nine outs via strikeout, and finished with 13 strikeouts in the game.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
After numerous game postponements and cancellations over the first few weeks of the season, all eight CAC teams have now opened their 2015 campaigns ... Salisbury is ranked No. 2 and Christopher Newport No. 5 in the March 4 NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll ... Frostburg State freshman Allison Short tossed a complete game shutout in her collegiate debut in a 3-0 win over Randolph-Macon on Sunday, striking out five batters and allowed just four hits as Frostburg opened the season 1-1 with a split at RMC ... Salisbury freshman Leanne Collins started her career in a strong way, going 3-for-4 with a pair of walks in her first two collegiate games ... York went 6-4 on its spring break trip to Ft. Myers, Fla. Katie Maloney led the Spartans by hitting .345 with seven RBIs, eight runs scored and four stolen bases. Courtney Martin threw 67 of the Spartans' 69 innings in the circle, going 6-4 with nine complete games, three shutouts, 39 strikeouts and a 1.78 ERA.
