YORK, Pa. -- Marymount junior Abby Wescott and York sophomore Nicole Clauter garnered CAC Women's Lacrosse weekly awards for March 13, 2017.

Marymount junior Abby Wescott was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year after totaling 17 assists and two goals in a 2-0 week for the Saints. Against John Carroll, Wescott tallied six assists and one goal. Against Ohio Northern, she recorded 11 assists and one goal. Her 11 assists against Ohio Northern were the most by a Division III player in a single game this year. Wescott currently sits atop the CAC and second in the country with 30 assists this year, while coming in at No. 4 in the country in points with 42.

York sophomore Nicole Clauter was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Spartans shut down 12th-ranked Messiah for a 9-5 victory in their only game of the week. Clauter captured six draw controls and caused one turnover as the Spartan defense held the Falcons to half of their season scoring average (10 goals per game). Clauter and the Spartan defense limited the Falcons to just three shots and one goal in the second half. For the season, Clauter leads the team in draw controls with 17 and tied for the team lead with four caused turnovers in four games.

Three CAC teams are ranked in the IWLCA National Rankings, with York at No. 9, Salisbury at No. 10, and Mary Washington at No. 16 ... In her only appearance of the week, Meaghan Galvin led Christopher Newport with eight points, including four goals, against No. 6 Catholic. During the neutral-site battle in Wilmington, N.C. she also added five draw controls. Overall this season, the reigning All-American has posted at least one goal and one assist in all six contests and leads the Captains with 32 total points ... Frostburg State freshman Nikki Hallikas finished the week with eight goals and six assists in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats. She opened the week with six goals and two assists in Frostburg's 12-10 win over Shenandoah, and notched two goals and four assists in a 14-13 loss to Susquehanna ... Mary Washington senior Kate Smucker was the Eagles' top scorer last week, scoring four goals and three assists in a pair of UMW victories. She scored one goal and added three assists in a 14-3 win at Guilford, and then scored three times in a 12-4 win at Roanoke ... Marymount's Abby Wescott eclipsed the 100-career assist mark with 17 last week. She also moved into third place in program history if career points with 174. Liah Agouras caused a career-high five turnovers and scooped up four ground balls in the Saints 18-0 victory over Ohio Northern. It was the first shutout for Marymount since 2002 ... Erika Kopf paced St. Mary's in scoring with a career-best four goals in the Seahawks' only game of the week ... Salisbury sophomore Lindsey Wagner scored three goals and added two assists in the Sea Gulls' 15-8 triumph over Washington College, while junior goalkeeper Gianna Falcone notched a career-best 10 saves ... Southern Virginia's Zoe Bradshaw scored half of the team's goals last week. She leads the Knights in all offensive categories ... Wesley's Fallon Fore registered 10 goals, eight ground balls, eight draw controls and four caused turnovers in two games for the Wolverines. Fore leads the CAC in goals with 23. Goalkeeper Shelby Schirmer made seven saves and earned two wins for the Wolverines last week ... York freshman Meghan Fox totaled four points on three goals and one assist in the Spartans 9-5 win over Messiah. For the season, Fox leads the Spartans in scoring with 12 points on nine goals and three assists in four games.
